Poison from the top

Nicola Sturgeon deserved an Oscar for her convincing portrayal of a reasonable person traumatized by events she could never have predicted – The words of Joan McAlpine, former SNP MSP who suffered at the hands of the alleged NEC selection stitch-up.

Those of us who saw the interview that Nicola Sturgeon gave last week were not surprised by it at all as it was all about Nicola, as the last eight years have demonstrated. It is clear that Joan McAlpine was not impressed at all and her article was an interesting little read to be fair.

But Sturgeon was always in charge. When you close the doors and windows to all scrutiny, bad things fester. (Joan McAlpine)

She is not wrong is she. I appreciate that most of what Joan talks about is in the public domain and has been aired in various places but to read it in her own words it really does highlight the level of control that Sturgeon and her cabal had over the party, and the lengths they went to to develop what can only be described as poison at the heart of Sturgeons SNP.

Joan McAlpine claimed allies of Sturgeon had forced her out as an MSP due to her opposition to gender reforms. She claims the “leadership cult” that developed under Ms Sturgeon “allowed the tiny cabal to ignore due process and transparency”.

What will happen to the Sturgeon’s we will have to wait and see, given it’s Police Scotland, possibly another couple of years but one thing is also clear, the SNP NEC require to be seriously looked at also for their role in the meltdown of the SNP and the potential the party might even cease to exist. The poison runs from top to bottom and useless so far has demonstrated that he doesn’t have a pair to clean up that party, he remains part of the problem.

Joan McAlpine’s was an honest and able msp and a genuine advocate for Scottish independence. The Alpines in the party were only going to be tolerated under Nicola sturgeon leadership if they set aside their principles, turned a blind eye to rank bad law making, corruption and incompetence and did exactly as they were told.

I always found her to be fair but it seems that she may have been seen as a threat to Sturgeon, I suppose like Cherry etc were so had to be side lined and out of the picture. It is so sad that the SNP just became like the other political parties in the whole ego thing. Maybe it is unavoidable but you kinda hope for different sometimes don’t you but they are always let us down. Maybe we are to blame for accepting the dross we are served.

I had a conversation at work on friday, deeply depressing it was.
I want Sturgeon to have to explain herself in front of a judge for everything that she has done. What we have just now is exactly the same as we had under Sturgeon. The same corrupt lying contemptuous government and her payroll lashing out at any sign of dissent.

The SNP haven’t learned or shown any signs of real change and that is the main reason that I just don’t care if the party ends or not to be honest, they are not going to change, are they. At the very least independence has not been damaged so far if the polls are correct but we need a different political vehicle now as I have had chats at work also and many people now see the SNP as they see Scottish Labour and will not vote for them now, a few have said they won’t vote at all as they are not fans of Alba either and don’t have ISP candidates. That is the damage that Sturgeon and her cabal have done while the carrot eaters sad on their hands and did nothing and that includes the cowards that were elected.
