Comment: Scotland the colony is just a broken Toilet (don’t believe me, watch the Prism)

Our colony is a toilet – watching The Prism today what is clear, not just that we keep talking about the same things week in week out, I am as guilty of that as anyone, and one of the reasons I just don’t blog all that much any more, but it really doesn’t matter how often we talk about free ports, poverty, colonialism, the SNP, it really does come down to the people who live in the colony.

Our excuse of what passes for politics in the colony might be split down the middle between those who want to get off their knees, and those who are happy to spend their lives on their knees like good house jocks, the simple reality is what was previously known as Scotland has been anglicised over the last 400 years, throw in people from the south who have bought cheap houses in the jockland, and you have the perfect storm.

From UK chain stores and supermarkets, from new buildings and houses no different from those down south, to shared poverty, shared ignorance, shared indifference, from a shared race to the bottom, to cowardice. We pretend that we are less racist than many down south, that we are more left leaning than those down south, that we are more social democratic than those down south, but are we really.

If we were, we would actually do something about it rather than moan about it, I am equally guilty, colonised jocks eat pretty much the same food as those down south, most football fans have an English team they follow (I don’t, never have, never understood why you would want one), we watch the same rubbish that passes for TV if you watch it at all.

Anglicisation is a form of cultural assimilation whereby something non-English becomes assimilated into, influenced by or dominated by the culture of England. It can be socio-cultural, in which a non-English person, people or place adopt(s) the English language or English customs; institutional, in which institutions are modified to resemble or are replaced by the institutions of England or the United Kingdom; or linguistic, in which a foreign term or name is altered to become easier to say in English. It can also refer to the influence of English culture and business on other countries outside England or the United Kingdom, including media, cuisine, popular culture, technology, business practices, laws, or political systems. (Wikipedia)

When I was watching the Prism today, the above was what came to mind, was the reality of what we are. There is no Scotland, it has no meaning any more, it is a photo on a short bread tin, it’s 90-minute patriots at Hampden Park singing about a history they know little of, and care about even less. If Westminster is the poodle of the United States of America, then we are the midge to the state of England, until we actually admit that to ourselves then nothing will ever change.

We sure have. I like the Prism but it’s just the perfect example of anglicised colonised jocks , I include myself to a degree, sadly far too many wouldn’t care if we were just all called English.

” sadly far too many wouldn’t care if we were just all called English.”

I’d fecking care! I think the problem is that too many believe if we just ask nicely we’ll be allowed to discuss/determine our future (that includes so called indy politicians btw). No, not happening, Westminster got too big a scare the last time.

We either take our future into our hands playing by international rules not Anglo-British ones or we die in the Disunited Kingdom. We should only become independent if the majority wish it but we should NEVER accept a veto on even asking the question.

I don’t disagree but we have no fight right now, how we get that back is beyond me right now. It does feel like enough are so broken that they might as well be English. Doesn’t matter how much we get the message available out their regarding out colonial status, the robbery of all of our resources , too many still refuse to look at it. It is so depressing when you just know that the colony could be so much more, that we can leave behind a better future, those are that refuse to see it I have no sympathy for and the shit that is most of their lives because they are to blame.

Scotland is still Scotland and we are still Scots. Despite the wankers that are selling us out now, despite the colonialists who are buying up cheap houses and land here, despite the bullshit virtue signalling and the neolibreal ideology. we have been sold out a hundred times by the eltite. Only the people can recover their rights and their country. The elite and the wannabe elite will always be human dross.

Sturgeon and her clique are just latest version of an age old form of humam character who, having had a better offer, sold out and peersecuted those who were in a position to interfere.

A Nasty, twisted, worth-very-little bastard, obviously. The people are still here and this is still our land. this land is the only one we will ever be gifted and it does not belong to any twisted clique today just as it didn’t belong to the twisted cliques in the times of John Maclean, Alistair MacColla, The Bruce or William Wallace.

I love your passion, I wish I had it right now, I really do, but it all feels further away than it ever has. I am about to write a wee blog about Scot Goes Pop and missing the point.
