Bits and Pieces Sunday 16th July 2023

A True Radical and a Brass Stain – I don’t know a great deal about Winnie Ewing other than she is highly regarded among many in the independence movement and a woman who did a huge amount to get the Scottish National Party to where it was in 2014 before the Sturgeon came along and destroyed 70 years of hard work in 8 years.

The “sort of spirit that Scotland needs” – needed then and so desperately, desperately needs now. (Alex Salmond)

I’ve mentioned recently that we need leadership in the Yes community, not a boss, but someone with a passion that can I suppose bring people together and move the debate forward. One of the reasons we do lack that person is the stain and brass neck that is Nicola Sturgeon, imagine her going to the memorial at this time, the woman has little shame but a massive ego.

A badge of honor if there ever was one – So the British SNP are taking a leaf out of the playbook of Red Tory Labour and expelling someone, all be it just too recently for me, for speaking their mind on independence, the Sturgeon clique, and the British SNP.

Angus MacNeil looks set to be kicked out of the SNP for good.

Supporters of MacNeil are saying he did not resign from the SNP Party while so-called insiders in the British SNP say that he jumped before he was pushed. Rats in a sack, no wonder our politics is so shit and the colony in such a mess when this is what we have to endure on a daily basis.

Mr MacNeil said: “I did not leave the SNP and I hope the SNP haven’t left me, as that was what went wrong with Labour in Scotland.” Rumors are that the SNP will select a candidate to stand in the seat for next year’s general election, Scotland United lol more Dundee United, shambles in every way. No wonder people are losing faith.

Wanker – That is exactly what I think of Red Tory (Sir) Keir Starmer, Leader of the Red Tory Labour Party. I actually despise this plank more than I do Sunak, at least he just hides and doesn’t turn up, Starmer is a bigger stain and even more Tory than Sunak.

It’s not the fact that he has purged any left thought from Tory Labour, it is not that he lied to get the leadership, or that he has given up on every pledge that he made, not even that he has no policies or ideas, it is the fact that this guy is a just a dangle berry of the 1%, a snake,

What is really depressing about Starmer’s article and interviews today is that he has confirmed he is a full-on Thatcherite. He has even gone so far as to say there is no alternative. I despair. (Richard Murphy)

Green MP Caroline Lucas meanwhile said: “Remind me what Labour is for? Utterly painful interview with #Starmer on #BBCLauraK – no vision, no hope, no change.”

Anyone voting Labour in any election is just a sign of complete stupidity and utter ignorance, a vote for Labour, or the SNP, might as well just be a vote for the real Tories.

Interesting Poll – I suppose it can be how you frame the question as James Kelly goes on about in the Scot Goes Pop blog sometimes.

Independence sits at around 45% right now,

This figure drops to a still considerable 35% when set against other alternative scenarios, including a Scotland within the United Kingdom but with more devolution, a scenario preferred by 21% of Scottish voters. By comparison, 14% prefer the current scenario, while another 21% would prefer Scotland within the United Kingdom and with more integration with the rest of the United Kingdom (i.e., less devolution than it enjoys now).

What is interesting is that on the same measure, no would be on 14%, this poll highlights Sturgeon’s failure even more starkly. I am no expert in polls but this one is kinda interesting and while if I were the unionists I would call a referendum now while they can still win by the looks if Tory Labour offers a little more power to Holyrood, like the color of the toilet roll or chips compared to hash browns the stupid might just go for it and really kick independence into the longer rough.

  1. 100%Yes says:

Sturgeon has done more to destroy Scotland, its economy and our people and it only took 8yrs lets be thankful she didn’t have any longer.

Angus has made his point crystal clear, the SNP would rather suspend him from the party than delivery any meaningful goal to achieving Independence. How stupid can the SNP, I thought I couldn’t despise anyone more than Margret Thatcher until Sturgeon came along. I like most people in my age croup no longer believe I’ll see Independence but I do hope I see 1 of 2 things Ash Regan become leader of the SNP or the SNP demise and to be honest the party isn’t the problem its the people running it. We all know if Ash becomes leader Sturgeon will be finished for good.

Personally I would rather see the SNP end, Regan won’t ever be voted leader by those who are left. I accept there are some who stayed and are fighting for change but it is too late for that now. Personally I would like to see a Yes Scotland type movement under that banner if it can be wrestled back from the SNP.

Sturgeon is up there with Thatcher for myself, not the same level of cruelty, but a far greater ego and unwillingness to listen. Sturgeons ego was all that mattered, hopefully we will learn more as time goes on as I suspect there is a lot more to learn. Sturgeon, Sunak, Starmer, they are all the same though. No vision, no ideas, no policies, just a sense of self importance that borders on the insane. These people don’t believe in anything and it’s why they fail and we suffer.

      Thanks for commenting.
