Odds and Ends Monday 3rd July 2023

The Prism – Dr. Yvonne Ridley expressed her disappointment and frustration that only 6000 people turned up at the march in Stirling last weekend and that if we really want independence then we have to get off, basically, our arse and show it.

Now I totally support AUOB, I also believe that marches have their place in the wider independence debate. I also enjoy the Prism a great deal and have since I came across it. I don’t always agree but the analysis is better than the shit we are usually fed in our colonized media, and many of the blogs that are pretty much about carrots and growing them in abundance.

There are a lot of reasons why people don’t march, it’s not the  lack of desire for independence but more the fact that not everyone can travel, can afford to travel. People are carers, have children, and for many just plain tired of the lack of political movement. It’s not that people are looking to the SNP as the answer but the simple fact remains that the politicians have failed us and that impacts on how we feel, and how motivated we are. I do believe independence will come from the people but there needs to be a degree of leadership somewhere and right now for many, it isn’t there. Yes I know Alba / ISP do the best they can, that Alex Salmond and Collette Walker are leaders, but for different reasons, they are not allowed to make that breakthrough, how we overcome that I don’t know, but the movement probably does need a figurehead leader with a decent profile and narrative to inspire and right now that just ain’t there.

I don’t blame them and I sympathize with Orkney – Both the Scottish Government and the UK colonizer Government have failed us all, Scottish Government more recently and UK Government always.

Orkney’s council leader James Stockan put forward a motion that says it is time for the islands to consider other forms of governance, possibly along the lines of crown dependencies such as Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man or reviving historic ties with Norway.

While I wouldn’t personally go from one colonial status to another, being a colony of Norway would certainly be better than being a slave colony of England which is pretty much what we are.

The UK government has shot down a proposal for Orkney to break away from the United Kingdom, saying it has “no plans” to change the devolution settlement.

Now the UK argue all their usual bullshit about being stronger together, of course, it doesn’t mean that at all as we all know. What they mean is England is wealthier with their last remaining colony, Scotland. There is no way the colonizers are going to give up Scotland without a fight, a real bloody battle, Orkney is no different. But I have a lot of sympathy for them I really do.

If you fancy cheering up – then follow Scotland in Union on Twitter. Talk about the most extreme form of jockholme syndrome and servitude. The delusion and lies they peddle are unbelievable, the fact that they can’t see they are as colonized as the rest of us is equally as funny and not funny at the same time. These people don’t just need help, they need reversion therapy from their servitude. The colonizers must rub their hands in glee that there are so many simple-minded, broken, easily manipulated servants in Scotland to keep them wealthy, allow them to have enough money to kill people in non-wars at the bequest of the USA around the world, and that stronger together really does mean wealthier with a rich colony like Scotland. Once they have asset-stripped Scotland like they did India, Scotland will be cut adrift and that, like Sturgeon, will include those suffering from jockholme syndrome.

Of course, we are – When you are governed by Blue or Red Tories then the bottom line is all that matters, profit for their pals in London is all that matters, ripping the shit out of us is all that matters. The really sad part is that they don’t even hide it anymore, they boast about it, they admit it, and they basically say what are you f going to do about it. Nothing that is what, we are not the French who just don’t take any shit, we are the colonized and we feed on it daily, some even think they thrive on it.

Since 2020, food prices have soared more than 20%, and the supermarket chains Tesco and Sainsbury have enjoyed their best profit margins in a decade. Trade magazine revealed that the CMA had already received evidence of “profiteering” in retail similar to that seen among energy companies.

Energy profits are up 43%, Mortgages are up £3000 a year, Car Insurance is up 43%, Broadband 17%, and Food 15%.

We really are being taken for the pricks we are, because we accept this shit every day and have done for hundreds of years, the difference now is that these people just don’t lie about it anymore, they don’t care because they know the politicians are already bought and paid for, and we won’t do jack shit about it, we are not the French.

David Potts told MPs on the business and trade committee: “I think there is more profit at the retail end of fuel.” 

What he meant to say was ” Yeah we are ripping people off, we are making lots of money, I am getting richer by the second, I will retire to the Caymans, and my kids are set up for life, what the f are you going to do about it”

I know I said I was having a break, and I am, but today I just wanted to express an opinion. I hope I have not bored you all with this rant.
