Scotland will let pupils change gender aged FOUR without their parents’ consent under guidance for teachers that says ‘recognition and development of gender identity can occur at a young age’

The Gender Reform Act is NOT law in Scotland yet, yet the SNP have went ahead with their guidance to schools as pupils return after the summer holidays and I have been waiting to see what ordinary people might think, you know the people who have been kept out of the loop, were not aware due to the pretty much media blackout on the issue, the people whose voices the SNP have done everything not to listen to or to silence.

Children as young as four will be able to change their gender at school without their parents’ consent under guidance introduced in Scotland. Any pupil who decides they want to switch gender must be supported and listened to in school following the Scottish Government advice. (Daily Mail) 

To have sex you have to be 16 years old, the age of criminal responsibility is 12 years, 16 to join the army but in the new SNP Scotland a child aged 4 years old is being told they can change their gender. You just can’t make this up anymore, what is it the SNP elected gender warriors don’t get, the law has not changed yet. Reaction has been coming in from around the world on this one. The guidance states that

Primary and secondary schools have also been told to put books featuring transgender people on the curriculum, allow pupils to choose which changing room or toilets to use, and consider introducing a gender neutral uniform. Marion Calder, director of the For Women Scotland campaign group, said: ‘To be transgender you have to have a diagnosis of gender dysphoria. What are they thinking? Parents will be very concerned to be reading this document.’ Below are some of the reactions:

Sometimes she loves being a little girl and other days she’s lost her tail and we have to try and look for it. 4 year olds don’t understand something this huge. Ridiculous!

Gender Reform is happening all over the world no matter what people think but the UK is split on the issue overall with

Young Britons – those aged 18-24 – are most likely to accept the new gender identity of transgender men and women, at 54%.

Men and women hold opposing views on the issue. Almost half (47-49%) of women accept the new gender identity of transgender men and women, while about three in ten (29-30%) do not.

By contrast, men refuse to accept the new gender identities of transgender men and women by 43% to 33%.

Following a brief explanation of what the current requirements are for someone to legally change their gender, by 47% to 28% Britons tended to think that this process should not be made easier. The public similarly believe (by 61% to 16%) that a transgender person should have to provide evidence that they have been living as their new gender for two years before being legally entitled to change gender.

People tend to be fine with transgender people using facilities for their new gender, but not if they have not undergone gender reassignment surgery

Despite being such a prominent battleground in the trans-rights debate, Britons tend to support transgender people using their new gender’s toilet (46-49% vs 28-30% opposed) and changing rooms (42-45% vs 32-34% opposed).

When it comes to sports, however, Britons are much less supportive of access for trans people. People tend to think that transgender people should not be able to participate in sporting events for their new gender, but noticeably more so when it comes to transgender women (55%) than transgender men (44%).

My opinion for what it is worth – I have tended to stay out of this debate, not for fear of expressing an opinion but more that these changes are coming either way. The politicians, and especially in Scotland, have chosen to ignore the concerns of many women, and of the general population, and they will pay a price at future elections.

No one with a heart doesn’t understand that transgender young people go through the mill, suffer abuse from ignorant peers, suffer from mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. Most people will accept that there needs to be discussion and understanding of the issues around transgender but surely 4 years old is pushing that to the limit.

Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP since she came to power in 2014 have been champing at the bit to make these changes at the expense of actually running the country properly or fighting for Scottish independence. As we get closer to this becoming law more people will make their decisions at the ballot box, many will go Tory as Boris Johnson has indicated he will not change the law in England as it stands right now.

I don’t know anyone who is against trans rights, I am certainly not, but I also believe that there needs to be more debate, more common ground and that this should not go ahead until such time as the public are ready for this change. What the public think is important, no matter what the politicians and Nicola Sturgeon believe. By putting out this guidance the SNP Government are opening a can of worms that can only damage them even more and the cause of independence and if that is the case it will be unforgivable.

Other than the right to self ID as this Government briefing paper shows transgender people are protected along with everyone else from discrimination under the Equalities Act 2010 so is this a fight needing to be fought right now, and done so in a manner that excludes the opinions of others, in fact in Scotland when the Hate Crime Bill comes in it will be illegal to even hold an opinion for fear of the gender warriors reporting you to the state Police.

I can’t help but think that the SNP under Nicola Sturgeon are doing everything in their power to ensure that Scotland remains part of the union. Gender Reform, Hate Crime Bill, drug deaths, poor educational attainment, poverty and unemployment, a health crisis, local authority cuts. The list of failure gets longer by the day and I am at the point where I just want this SNP Government and First Minister gone before it is too late and we lose it all.
