Politics right now is boring

I know that the mainstream media keep saying that we are living in exciting and extraordinary political times but actually we’re not. For the last 3 years it’s pretty much been the same everyday, and the unionists argue that it’s been that way since September 2014.

I don’t think I have been this bored with politics for a long time. Everyday feels like Groundhog Day, it really does. The SNP plod along saying the same things on different days and it feels like we are not moving forward. The Tories fight like rats in a sack and we now have the prospect of a new lame duck PM elected by just over 100,000 thousand deluded Tory members, like they did 3 years ago, what kind of democracy is that. Labour don’t know what they want, when they want it, are they anti semitic or not, while the right in their party try to bring down their leader. The Liberals are looking for a new leader again, and are going Tory again, while trying to convince us they were the good guys in the coalition, wankers. The Brexit party make noise, prompted by the BBC at every opportunity, and might win a few seats but probably not but also remind us how England has lost its collective mind while Trump is just that bad dream that you just want to go away.

For the next little while I’m just going to blog Something Different. Most of the blogs I read, while being excellent, are also just repeating themselves just now and both Wings and Pete Bell have slowed down or taken a break. I just can’t remember a time when our politics was this bad, and this boring, everyone I know is bored with it, we need an independence campaign or something to happen with Brexit. Here’s hoping something gets going soon because for the last 3 years we have just been repeating ourselves.

I never expected anything different to be honest from any of them and I think you are correct it is a wait and see mode hence this blog will just talk about other things for a wee while as I just feel that everything I have wanted to say about current events I have. Even when I read my go to blogs I am feeling that many are starting to repeat themselves and are treading water.

If this piece is to be believed, this is a temporary respite.

My take is that we are going to go through a repeat of March where the Tories will again try to browbeat the EU27 into blinking – giving them the great deal they want.

My advice is to quietly stock up on basic supplies and otherwise relax and enjoy the respite while you can.

Thanks for the link, interesting read. I am not sure where things are going to go anymore although Johnson and (H)unt have painted themselves into a corner with the October 31st nonsense. I don’t see the EU being willing to change any deal but they might agree to yet another extension but the gruesome twosome can’t suggest that and survive and all the while things just continue to get worse. I think for the next little while I will blog about other things as I feel as if I have been repeating myself as not a lot is happening, I think many other blogs are the same. We won’t stock up to be honest as what we eat we will be able to get either way, possibly more concerned about medication for high blood pressure than anything else.

It’s the calm before the storm . I’ve been reading a lot of people’s take on things , there seems to be movement to YES from the strongest of unionist . If true then the union is already over , because its no longer about being British , its finally about what’s best for our country and people . They’ve taken a while but better late than never .

I have heard people who were staunch no now saying they are open minded so it could be all to play for. I think it’s probably around 50/50 right now and a bad Brexit might tip the balance but then it will be a hell of a fight to get the indy2 and I wonder what the SNP will do when Westminster keep saying no.

If the SNP don’t know international rules on ending a treaty then we are screwed .

Seemingly the SNP have refused a motion on alternative routes to independence for their next conference put forward by Angus MacNeil, doesn’t bode well at all. I am still not convinced by their strategy at all.

I agree , the tactics seem to be reliant on the belief the British state is right on constitutional matters , rather than the true facts . Very worrying .

The British will make up the rules as they go along and I think if we are not willing to get down and dirty, and that includes UDI, then we will lose. The SNP are either brilliant and have a cunning plan or they are being played and being led by the nose.
