Decline

So allegedly Theresa May is looking to cut the defence budget again to pay for all the things she has been promising recently, but the simple fact is that Britain is in decline.

Tory right wingers, and Ruth Davidson, might think that the Great is still in Britain but even before Brexit this country was on a slippery slope to insignificant glory.

Oh I know there are people like Robert Tomes in the Spectator who don’t agree with my sentiment because Britain is wealthy but it’s not really. There are wealthy people who live here but most folk are pretty skint. We don’t make much of anything that anyone wants and while we need to spend on public services it won’t be the wealthy who pay for them it will be the poorest.

As Will Hutton wrote in the Guardian last year

It’s the same story of underinvestment; a woeful track record on R&D; overemphasis on high, short-term profits; an incredibly poor record on productivity and stagnating real wages. On almost every international comparison, Britain fares badly, with a desperately weak export sector overfocused on financial services and a few manufacturing industries.

Scotland could prosper as we have a lot to build on but as long as we are chained to the U.K. governed by right wing sycophants and Scottish yoons determined to go down with the sinking ship it doesn’t look good.

I can’t understand why anyone would want to be a part of the U.K. This state is a disgusting class ridden midden, but those with the power never see the midden, they don’t feel the hunger, don’t experience the health and well-being inequality. They live in a bubble protected by their media friends and served by their sycophantic hanger ons.

The more I learn and the more I try to understand the more I am convinced that the U.K. is over now and it’s just a matter of time. I just can’t see how the U.K. doesn’t end badly I really can’t. This country is devoid of vision and run by idiots in Westminster. Decline isn’t even the start.

I have watched this country decline almost since I was born, Europe was all that stopped it briefly. If I had my way I would send those who voted NO over to the Continent and show them what they could have. The filled shops, no derelict buildings. Whether it be Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Belgium or the Netherlands, here we look like the war has just ended and we lost. Dunfermline looks like a bomb site and it isn’t on it’s own.
We need out of this particular Union, and now. We cannot make another mistake because we have not got the time. We also need to stay in Europe in the meantime. We need the trade and strength o rthe United States will finally destroy us.

You’re spot on. Dundee might have a new waterfront but walk 10 minutes into the city and you see empty shops and none stop charity shops. This country was on its knees before the leave vote and the no vote, large parts of it are just a shithole and all the talk of great is just bollocks and I hope that the clowns who believe that crap get their eyes opened. We will be the ones receiving the aid soon enough.

Some joker last week wanted defence spending increased to 3% of GDP, despite the fact that UKL’s is currently hioghest in the EU. Part of the wants was a carrier task force to sail with HMS White Elephant I and II.
Didn’t hear if Boris’s trip to Peru re trade was a triumph or not. What do we have they want and what do they have that we want?

This country is broke end of. It makes little of note and that will decrease as companies move, the U.K. is wealthy but that’s held with the 1% who will move their money as soon as taxes go up, we will be the third world soon and if that doesn’t encourage a yes vote then we don’t deserve the name Scotland or to be Scottish we are just conquered people with no country and no name but the U.K. is washed up and in terminal decline.

If you check out the money paid for such items as Trident parts, the F35 , the new maritime surveilance aircraft and any other defence item bought abroad, we are paying well over the normal cost. That I’m guessing is because UK is a poor credit risk. It’s that simple. Just wait until the old queen shuffles off her mortal coil. A lot of the military ceremonial organisation is set to go. Chelsea Barracks is set to be sold off for development, despite being fairly new. We haven’t seen the half of it yet.

Yeah I agree the great sell off is coming and if the English don’t wake up soon it will be the NHS and that will effect Scotland as money is cut. The U.K. is a busted flush and over, I just hope that no voters wake up before it’s too late.

They are a bunch of losers and are in total denial about the UKs standing in the world which is zero. No one gives a crap about this state and they are about to find out the hard way.
