A Tweet and an Email to the Secretary of State for Scotland

I read the Wings Over Scotland article about the Hootsmans accusation that the Scottish Government did nothing to stop the job loses at Young’s in Annan.

So I thought I’ll tweet and write to David Mundell MP and Secretary of State for or in Scotland.

To be honest I’m not expecting a reply at all but it might just annoy him and I would encourage any of you who have a spare minute to either tweet Mundell at @DavidMundellDCT or to email him at enquiries@scotlandoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Lets annoy the crap out of the total waste of space.

He won’t respond, if I receive anything it will be from a flunky and will get a reply saying the email is for Mundell and not an assistant and if I want an assistant to reply I would have written to them in the first place but I am not expecting anything soon. It really pisses me off to be honest but really shows how important WoS is for the independence cause. It also shows what goes on and it really is disgusting, Young’s won’t see a penny of mine again, neither will Aldi. I do shop at Tesco sadly but I don’t buy anything that has a butchers apron on it for Scottish produce. I spent this week buying the local evening rag for a wee experiment and that is over now, good football coverage of the local clubs to be fair but the rest garbage so back to the National from tomorrow the couple of days I buy I paper. Mundell thought is a total jobbie and should not be in politics, I mean who in their right mind would vote for someone so vacuous, if my local SNP candidate was as bad as he is I wouldn’t even vote for them.

Bruce, I was in Lidl today and was going to buy strawberries that were grown locally here in Fife but they are now putting a Union Jack on local produce. I cut my nose off to spite my face by leaving them on the shelf. I thought they were big on the saltire, what changed their policy?

We are on a losing battle I think, it’s like there is an agenda now to force the whole idea of the British single market nonsense but there is little we can. I will not buy anything with a union flag on it as best I can but it is getting more difficult by the day.

Mundell will have a flunky to do this, and that flunky will ignore any comments.
Mundells’ own “day job” is making the tea for the real government ministers.

I think you’re correct, it will be flunky if anything at all but I suspect that it will just be ignored. Most politicians are garbage now, and even some in the SNP are crap as well, I can’t remember a time where our politics have been as broken as they are now. This country is a mess and if that doesn’t shift enough people over to indy then I am afraid nothing ever will sadly and things are set to get a lot worse. I work for a local authority and every year now I expect to lose my job so we have a 12 year old car, done nothing to the house for years but then saying that I haven’t had a decent pay rise in 10 years. Mundell and his like will be happy for that to continue and wouldn’t give a crap if more companies left Scotland for England but I know Young’s won’t see another penny from me that’s for sure. Total scumbags, f them.

Unless you’re one of his constituents, won’t get through. It’ll be reduced to a “local matter for the local voters to take up with their local MP” as soon as it falls out of the 24/7 news cycle.

Mundell is an useless prick. God, I’m still pissed at the Greens for splitting the Yes vote in that constituency in 2015. It tied the Tories in second place, rather than knocking them back to where they were in the 90s.

As far as I know a Minister of State has to reply and the same rules don’t apply. The reality though is that it isn’t enforced and will more than likely be passed to a flunky. Mundell is a clown though and a total waste of space, I can’t believe that people like him get elected full stop, total plank.

Too right, unfortunately. Here’s something I read in the Sunday Times today. A quote from an unnamed official:

“Our politicians come from this unwritten constitutional system where there’s always a fix, they don’t really understand that the EU is a set of laws and if you break them you break the edifice of the EU.”

There’s always a fix. Either you’re not a constituent and therefore don’t need to be responded to, and/or Mundell isn’t a Secretary of State for Scotland anymore, so he no longer has to respond to any enquiries from Scotland or some other nebulous nonsense that wouldn’t pass muster in the EU.

I don’t think they care either way, they just ignore or go on the offensive. I been in a twitter spat today including the clown history woman so I played along, made outrageous comments to see what would happen , wound them up and the abuse was unreal. That is the British State, they are like locusts, destroy everything they can’t own, was funny though.

The tories love the free market when it comes to destroying public services but are happy to offer socialist ‘bribes’ when it suits them. I would love to see some way for the Scottish government to be able to allow the staff at Annan a chance to buy the plant and supply frozen fish in competition to Young’s. If the SG had control of the full levers of the economy they could, but it might be too difficult under the current system.

They would find a way to ensure it didn’t succeed. These people hate Scotland, of course they deny it but is the fact of things sadly.
