As We Wait Part Two

Another story caught my eye today that again sums up what it means to not have full control over employment rights in not so Great Britain.

Sainsbury staff will see their wages rise to £9.20 per hour after lobbying by staff and trades unions but will lose paid breaks as a result. Give with one hand while taking away with the other. Around 9000 staff will lose on average £3000 a year as a result of this move and the scrapping of weekend pay rates.

This company made a profit last year of over £500 million pounds and pays its chief executive £930,000 per year before bonuses and has used this pay rise to basically shaft their workers and make them poorer while saying this is a good deal.

Now many will say this action is a result of Brexit and a race to the bottom but this race to the bottom seems to happen every time we have a Tory Government. This is the union dividend when Scotland has no control what so ever to protect workers and a government at Westminster who are only getting started.

What’s next?

The way the UK is , has and will always be run creates a shit hole , because its based on a class system . When we become self governing again , we cannot allow that system to continue here .

I totally agree, my whole life has been decided by class and privilege, and while the privileged have done a great job in convincing people that class doesn’t matter, it runs through all of our education and institutions to this day. We are as class driven as places like Saudi Arabia who also happen to not be proper democracies and also have the stupidity of an unelected Royal Family as head of state. This country is a shit hole and I don’t care what anyone thinks about that, the facts are the facts. The other sad thing is after I read Richard Murphy, and blogged about his article this morning, we will be remaining a member of it for the rest of my life if we don’t wake the f up soon.

We are slipping to the bottom and will soon be that sweat shop of the western world, it’s bad enough that we have the weakest unions in the world pretty much and this just how far we have fallen as there will be little anyone can do and with no safety net what are the workers to do? Other than have a cry.
