Love those ads. I’ll bet any of those guys in the ads who’d treated themselves to a Colt pistol at Christmas kept it well hidden from their put-upon spouses or it would probably have been the last Yuletide those guys ever saw.

There is an innocence about the 50’s in so many ways, the manners I would welcome today but the sexism/racism and over the top deference I can do without, they are funny though.
