Been having a wee surf on the net today and keep finding wee gems, and Scottish Labour is the gift that just keeps giving.
Richard Leonard MSP, candidate for the Scottish branch managers job, and member of CLD,has said there will be no independence referendum, oh well that’s that then.
Progressive Socialism which supports Nuclear Weapons and denies the democratic wishes of the Scottish Parliament and many of the voters. Richard Leonard is no different to any other red tory out there, they are not socialists, they are champagne socialists of the worst kind.
To empathise this progressive socialism we also find out that the other candidate for branch manager, Anas Sarwar MSP, millionaire and major shareholder in the family business doesn’t support Trade Union membership.
This is the real socialism of Scottish Labour, it’s socialism for the wealthy and capitalism for the poor. As pointed by a Twitter user, this is the party that the Cat Boyds of the world would have you vote for.

To think I was actually worried that NOT electing Sarwar would represent Labour’s best opportunity to climb back. TBF, it probably still does, but that margin is looking a lot slimmer.
At the same time, I do wonder about the Scottish Labour electorate – the particular voters those two are fighting over at the moment. They haven’t revealed how many votes were cast in the past several leadership elections. Probably won’t for this one either. Anyway, my point is that Leonard might be pursuing a campaign strategy designed to attract this rather, um, special electorate and can certainly change his message and strategy before the next elections.
Which are, when, 2021? Four years… a fucking LOT can change in four years. Indyref was only three years ago.

Affiliate members get the opportunity to vote. I am in the Unite Union and got offered a vote today depending on my agreeing with Scottish Labour Policy and Values, I declined the opportunity obviously.
I think Sarwar will win but I don’t see him improving their fortunes to any great extent. He is just full of hypocrisy and while the media will let him off the hook many others won’t. He might get some votes in Glasgow from the Indian community but most of the real left joined the SNP a long time ago, he is just another rich entitled red tory who I personally find offensive.
You’re correct of course, a lot can happen in four years and to be honest I hope/expect it will be game on for the next indy ref once Brexit and our place in this shitty union becomes clear to even the yoons.

Dugdale politician of the year! Thy really are taking the absolute rip. She could hardly be more of a hypocrite if she bloody well tried for gods sake. They are scumbags and I despise them, they have always done the Tories job for them and it took us too long to see it and I thank the SNP for opening my eyes to it more clearly over the years. Dugdale set this country back, bad enough that she is just not a good politician but she got lots and lots of yoon media coverage for her delusion and that damaged Scotland and keeps us shackled even more to this disgusting little country.
